Physical fitness is an important element in athletics learning because it is related to students' ability to perform effective, efficient, and controlled movements in various basic techniques. However, studies specifically examining the role of fitness in the success of basic athletic techniques in students have not been synthesized in various studies and have not been synthesized in a directed manner. This study aims to analyze the role of physical fitness in the success of basic athletic techniques in students through a systematic literature review approach. Research data were obtained from relevant open-access scientific literature and systematically selected based on predetermined inclusion and exclusion criteria, then analyzed using narrative synthesis. The results of the study indicate that fitness plays an important foundation in the success of basic athletic techniques, especially through the components of speed, endurance, strength, agility, and motor control. Various studies also show that increased physical fitness tends to be followed by an increase in the quality of basic athletic technique performance, both in the context of training and learning. These findings confirm that mastery of basic athletic techniques in students cannot be separated from adequate physical readiness. This research contributes to strengthening the conceptual understanding of the relationship between physical fitness and performance techniques, and provides a scientific basis for the development of more integrative and movement-performance-needs-based athletic learning in higher education.
